PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: I previously had an internship at a hedge fund and an internship at a venture capital fund. Both of these experiences had profound effects on my development as an analyst because it helped me learn how to perform complex tasks in intense environments.
Kevin Kurimoto was my college Finance professor and he hired me as an investment analyst out of college a year ago. As an analyst at K2, I love being able to focus on and solve complex problems for our clients and firm. Whether it is analyzing individual companies, performing portfolio analysis, building new portfolios, writing economic updates or performing analysis on our own business, the amount of complex problems that I come across keeps me engaged and seems to provide value which makes my job very enjoyable.
Kevin Kurimoto had a massive impact on my college career while he was my professor for three years at Azusa Pacific University, and he’s had an even bigger impact as my boss for the past year. He has pushed me to be a better analyst and inspired me to grind through the journey of becoming a CFA® charterholder. I currently hold the series 65 registration and the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) designation, and am currently pursuing the CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst®) designation. I am also pursuing my Masters of Science in Applied Economics from John Hopkins University.
