My professional background and what brought me here… I have a business degree from Azusa Pacific University and a certificate in Personal Financial Planning from UCLA extension. I prioritized my professional knowledge early in my career through extensive educat
What drew me into this profession… As a second-generation financial advisor, I grew up hearing stories about how my dad encouraged people to save and helped guide them to a more enjoyable retirement. Providing people with a sense of security and calm about the choices they make with their money, guiding them through their vision of the future, and recognizing the deeper relationships that result from trust is what first drew me into the profession. I enjoy this business most when I’m doing comprehensive financial planning for a family to illustrate the steps needed to help attain a more secure retirement so they can reach the more important goals they have for themselves.
I’m most passionate about… At this stage in my life, when I am not in the office, most of my free time and passionate energy goes towards raising my family. With three very active young children, my wife and I are always trying to keep up with them and provide the experiences and adventure we hope will mold them into the best versions of themselves. As a father and spouse, I understand the various demands and priorities that people have for their lives, and it has made me a more empathetic and compassionate person. It has also made me realize the importance of both fitness and giving back to the community, and I can often be found lifting weights, riding bikes, hiking, or volunteering with my family. I enjoy most anything done outdoors, including the occasional off-road car race, a passion which I hope my kids will share with me some day.
Outside of the office I can be found… In addition to spending time with my family, I never give up the chance for a good adventure; whether it's hiking in the Sierras, reading a great biography, exploring a new part of the world, or doing a sprint triathlon, I try to stay on the move and make it a point to experience the joys of the world around me.
The most recent book I read was…. I really enjoy reading but I have found it tough to find the time with the demands of a growing family. Fortunately, I’ve discovered lately that audio books and podcasts help facilitate this desire. That's often what I am listening to while I’m driving, working out, or traveling, and it has been enriching to be able to multi-task in this fashion. This past year my two favorites have been Ben Franklin’s Autobiography and Finding my Virginity by Sir Richard Branson. Both are great books filled with a wide range of business and life counsel. There are so many people that have gone before us, and I love being able to glean wisdom and inspiration from those that I respect and admire.
